Carla Tak, who left home and formal education at an early age, credits life experiences as her greatest teachers. As an artist, the act of painting while staying true to her personal process is what is important to her. By process, she means a felt state that involves suspending her logical voice and allowing her intuitive self to guide her. The residue of this experience is her painting. She invites the viewer to similarly engage their intuitive selves to develop their own interpretation of her works. Tak lives in Vancouver, Canada. She paints, every day, in her studio. Her work is held in collections in Canada, the United States and Europe.
