When creating the Echasse vase for Menu, Theresa Rand reinterpreted the traditional glass vase in a poetic but functional fashion. The Echasse gets its name from the French word for "stilts," which refers to the slender base that elevates the vessel off the table. Rand took inspiration from the laboratory test tube when designing the rounded form of the vase; however, the glass receptacle has a flat bottom meaning it can be used with or without the brass base.
